New England Barn and Farmstead Stone Wall Covered in Fresh Snow with Ice Pillar Night Sky
A classic farmstead rock wall leads into an old colonial style barn along a backroad in rural Boxford Massachusetts at night, under a coating of pristine snow. Seen very early on a calm morning just after the first snowstorm of the season broke, I captured unique “ice pillars” in the night sky, an almost aurora like effect created by ice crystals in the atmosphere being illuminated by a source, in this instance presumably light pollution.
