Infrared Photography
I took these images with a modified camera to achieve surreal looking color. A factory digital camera comes with a filter covering the image sensor that only allows visible light to pass, as the other wavelengths will pollute the image. To take these images, the filter covering my camera's sensor was replaced with one that allows all light wavelengths to pass (full spectrum). Then to further control the light received by the sensor, I place optical filters in front of the lens.

Parson Barnard House in North Andover Massachusetts
The historic Parson Barnard house is over 300 years old, and is an example of late First Period Colonial American architecture, and is thought to be haunted. This image was created with a camera converted to record the near infrared spectrum, which is why the foliage is white. The image transitions from a sharp center to a subtle, soft focus on the edges and corners, a decision made in post process.
