Infrared Photography

I took these images with a modified camera to achieve surreal looking color. A factory digital camera comes with a filter covering the image sensor that only allows visible light to pass, as the other wavelengths will pollute the image. To take these images, the filter covering my camera's sensor was replaced with one that allows all light wavelengths to pass (full spectrum). Then to further control the light received by the sensor, I place optical filters in front of the lens.

As seen in late October 2019, an old tree sits atop a hill at Ward Reservation in Andover Massachusetts. This is an infrared and visible image hybrid achieved with a full spectrum camera and an IR Chrome filter by Kolari Vision. This optical filter was engineered to achieve a digital image with the look of Kodak Aerochrome IR film, straight out of camera.
