Plum Island Beach Star Trails over Driftwood

I was really lucky to find this piece of driftwood embedded in frozen sand just before the tide reclaimed it in the very early morning hours. First coming upon the dark mass In the pitch black was quite alarming, but further inspection revealed it to be a burned out camp fire log that had become smooth over time.

This is a single 11 min exposure utilizing a very shallow depth of field, which yielded driftwood in focus and a creamy smooth foreground and background.
