Graves Lighthouse from Winthrop Beach Massachusetts with Stormy Sunrise Panning

On a dark spring morning I viewed Graves Light just before sunrise from Winthrop Beach, near the base of Winthrop Head (Cottage Hill). I mixed two photographs of the same scene taken within a short time of each other, just with different technical executions. The lighthouse is a fast shutter speed to retain detail at 800mm with no filter, and I placed it over a panned long exposure at 100mm with a neutral density filter. The resulting image maximizes every aspect of the scene, and captures the real experience of being there that morning.
